Short Box Calls
The boxes I make are "Cost" style hewn calls. The woods I usually use for these are Yellow Poplar, Mahogany, Black Limba, and Butternut. My checking patterns are done by hand with a chisel and mallet.
As with all my calls, if there's anything you don't like about a call, I will replace, fix, or refund your money if sent back unaltered and undamaged.

At my 1st callmaking competition I received 5th place at the NWTF Grand Nationals in Nashville, Tenn. in February 2007 "Working Calls/Short Box" category.
4th and 5th places at the Jan. 2008 Midwest Nationals at Wisconsin Dells, Wisc.
5th place at the Jan. 2009 NWTF Midwest Nationals held in Wisc. Dells, Wisc.
3rd place at the 2019 Mountain State Call Making Championship in Flatwoods, WV
5th place at the 2023 Great Lakes Open
4th place at the 2025 Southeast Regionals
